Out of the many times Bugs Bunny and Yosemite Same have crossed paths, this one will ALWAYS be one of my favorites. And truthfully, the main reason this cartoon has always stuck with me is because of the scene that starts at 7:29. Up until I first saw that scene, I had watched Bugs get out of danger by manipulation, deception, or using his environment to throw off the guys trying to get him. This was the first time I'd ever seen him throwing hands with whatever adversary he had in an episode of his.

Technically the first Yosemite Sam was actually cartoon called "stage door cartoon.” But it was rumored it was just a sheriff talks like Sam who also play Mel blanc. Thats how Sam first appeared in this cartoon from the start.

This cartoon marks the debut of Bugs Bunny’s enemy Yosemite Sam.

Yeahh, I'm diggin' that "Funk/Rock", and Inika, with that funk rockin' you like that, you might grab that Fender guitar and mesmerize how Hendrix did, or make it sing like Christone "Kingfish", or, or maybe even strum & dance like Elvis - but when you really think about it Inika.............................."who knows?"

What's the dice teeth joke a reference to? I have to say, I don't even find this cartoon offensive. Sure it has some caricature humor, but no more than say Elmer Fudd is a caricature of a hillbilly or Yosemite Sam is a caricature of a cowboy or Pepe Le Pew is a caricature of a roantic and / or a clingy infatuated guy who doesn't understand the meaning of "no". Back then animators knew how to play with stereotypes to get a laugh out of them. They're not even so much perpetuating stereotypes, rather than making light of them. Even murder inc. charging half price for midgets... nobody can take that seriously. And Japanese for free, that's because it was made during WW2. Same as the evil queen hoarding sugars and tires, things that were in short supply during WW2. The shoe tire is a reference to that shortage. The creators of this cartoon had a real appreciation for black American culture and music, and the overall vibe of the cartoon is just a lovely take on Snow White. I'm glad you appreciated it. Don't focus so much on what's offensive, and instead appreciate the artistry and laughs.

i love this song, I was born at the very end of WWll, in Denmark, who was occupied by the Germans. This is my parents generation, but I love it as well.
